My task was to enhance the user experience and design a better UI for a product built with JS and CSS frameworks. Managing the UI and maintaining compatibility with the existing codebase was complex.
solution
I broke down the existing design into atomic components and developed a small design system that was connected to the codebase through design tokens (JSON files). This ensured backward compatibility and allowed me and the front-end developer to make updates more easily and keep everything aligned.
